FASTER DOMESTIC TO INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS FOR STAR ALLIANCE CUSTOMERS AT TOKYO’S NARITA AIRPORT
New transfer facility reduces minimum connecting time by 15 minutes Improved convenience for passengers
From April 16th, 2008 passengers arriving on ANA flights from domestic destinations in Japan will be able to connect to international flights through a new facility in the South Wing of Narita Airport’s Terminal 1. This will shorten the present route taken by customers transferring onto Star Alliance member carrier international flights from ANA domestic flights, reducing minimum connecting times from 60 to 45 minutes*.
“This is yet another example of the benefits we can achieve for our customers by working together with our airport partners,” said Star Alliance CEO, Jaan Albrecht. “It will soon be two years since Star Alliance member airlines serving Tokyo moved under one roof in Terminal 1 at Narita, providing our customers with hitherto unknown levels of service and convenience, and considerably reducing connecting times. We have continued to work closely with Narita Airport Authority, and this latest addition will allow customers to complete immigration and other procedures in a dedicated area close to the arrival gates, saving them even more time and effort,” he continued.
The new facility is located in Satellite 5 of Terminal 1 South Wing, which is served by ANA domestic flights from Osaka-Itami, Nagoya, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Sendai, Komatsu, Hiroshima and Okinawa. At present, customers connecting from those flights must first pass through the existing immigration facilities located near the departure lobby in Terminal 1 South Wing, a 15 minute round-trip walk away.
In addition to Tokyo – Narita, Star Alliance member carriers also serve the major Japanese international hubs of Osaka - Kansai and Nagoya - Centrair, offering unparalleled domestic connectivity and convenience to customers travelling to and from the Japanese archipelago.
*Except Air New Zealand and Air China, which serve Terminal 2.
