Star Alliance launches Asian Airpass
Star Alliance™, the airline network for Earth, today introduced the Asian Airpass, the sixth in a series of airpasses offered by the global airline alliance. The Asian Airpass allows customers, in conjunction with a Star Alliance member carrier flight starting in USA, Canada, Central & South America, Europe, Africa or the Middle East, to choose from 16 destinations throughout Asia, and take up to 6 individual flights.
Travel on the fare is applicable all year round on 27 sectors within Asia on Star Alliance member carriers Singapore Airlines, Asiana Airlines, THAI and United. Exceptions are Singapore Airline flights from Singapore to Brunei on Singapore Airlines 5000 flight series and Asiana Airlines flight numbers 6761-6764 on the Seoul to Bangkok route.
The international flight ticket must be purchased at the same time as the Asian Airpass and on the same ticket stock. Only one Airpass can be bought per passenger and per international ticket and individual sectors may be travelled only once in each direction. A three-day minimum and two-month maximum stay apply.
As with all other Star Alliance airpasses, eligible flights taken with the Star Alliance Asian Airpass will earn miles towards the passenger’s nominated Star Alliance frequent flyer programme.
With the Star Alliance Asian Airpass, passengers can fly to any six of these destinations:
Singapore, Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi), Brunei Darussalam (Bandar Seri Begawan), Indonesia (Denpasar Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya), Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City), Phillipines (Manila), Hong Kong, Republic of Korea (Seoul), Mynamar (Yangon) and Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Vientiane).
The Asian Airpass further compliments Star Alliance airpass products in Japan, Europe, North America, South Pacific and Brazil. For further information, please visit www.staralliance.com.

The members are Air Canada, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Austrian, bmi, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Mexicana Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Spanair, Thai Airways International, United, and VARIG Brazilian Airlines.
