Star Alliance introduces special fares for its North American Airpass 

Star AllianceTM, the airline network for Earth, will offer its North American Airpass at special fares for travel between May 1, 2004 and June 15, 2004. The Airpass permits travel throughout Canada, the USA, Mexico and the Caribbean on Star Alliance member carriers Air Canada, United and US Airways. Three to ten flights may be taken on the Airpass. Fares start at $399* US for three coupons and go up to $1099* US for ten coupons. These special fares represent savings of up to 20 per cent compared to the normal North American Airpass.
 
“With the current favourable exchange rates and new Star Alliance member carrier US Airways further bolstering our North American network, there has never been a better time to visit the 21 countries covered by this airpass,” said Horst Findeisen, Vice President – Commercial, Star Alliance.

The North American Airpass is available in conjunction with the purchase of an international air ticket for travel to North America on any Star Alliance member carrier from Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe and Latin America.

Star Alliance first launched its North American Airpass in 2002 and currently has a total of six different airpasses available in various regions of the world. Additionally, Star Alliance offers very attractive round-the-world fares in Economy, Business or First Class, which can be used to visit anywhere between three and 15 different cities around the globe.
 
Star Alliance was established in 1997 as the first truly global airline alliance to offer customers global reach and a smooth travel experience. The members are Air Canada, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Austrian, bmi, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Spanair, Thai Airways International, United, and VARIG Brazilian Airlines.  US Airways is scheduled to join the alliance on May 4 2004.
