Asiana Airlines

Every journey begins with the first step. Asiana took that first step in 1988 when it was introduced as the second flag carrier of Korea. On the occasion of its 15th Anniversary in 2003, Asiana took its next major step by joining the Star Alliance network.

For more than two decades, Asiana's main goal has been to offer its passengers the highest safety and service standards. With the aim of guiding every thought and action of its employees, Asiana adopted the term "Uncompromising Safety" as its mission statement. In keeping with this target of uncompromising safety, Asiana maintains the most modern fleet worldwide and was the first airline in the world to be granted ISO 9002 certification on aircraft maintenance.

Asiana's dedication to in-flight and ground service makes you feel at home while in the air. As a result, Asiana was named Airline of the Year 2009 by ATW, Airline of the Year 2010 by Skytrax and Airline of the Year 2011 by Global Traveler. Being nominated for such prestigious awards demonstrates that Asiana’s quality of service is broadly recognized and trusted. In addition, Asiana has also received a Five Star Airline ranking for four consecutive years by the world renowned airline research group Skytrax.

With its modern fleet of 71 aircraft, Asiana today serves 68 cities in 22 countries, not including 12 destinations within Korea. As the foreign airline with the largest network between mainland China and the rest of the world, Asiana focuses not only on playing a significant role in covering all major Asian destinations, but also in expanding its global network coverage. In 2011, Asiana carried more than 14.7 million passengers with 285 scheduled daily flights. Asiana has 9,073 employees, comprised of 3,321 office personnel, 4,582 cabin crew and 1,170 technical and ground staff.
