A: The Fare Product Calculators offer you the possibility to plan gradually in one tool region-specific Star Alliance Fares and Airpasses. You can circle with the Star Alliance Circle Fare through Asia or the Pacific. The alternative is to choose one of the Airpasses in Africa, Asia, China, Europe, Japan, North America, South Pacific or Thailand.

A: The Airpass is available to residents of countries other than Japan.

The Airpass is available in conjunction with international Round Trips, Star Alliance Round the World Fares, Circle Fares or Open Jaw travel to/from/via Japan and those flights must be on scheduled services in First, Business or Economy class of any Star Alliance member carrier.

A: The Airfare is valid on All Nippon Airways (NH) flights within Japan. Please check the Japan Airpass Calculator for valid flights, contact any Star Alliance member ticketing office or your travel agent for details.

A: The Japan Airpass includes any number between 1 and 5 flight coupons.

A: Your travel may last up to 60 days from commencement of travel on the first Airpass coupon on domestic travel to completion of travel on the last Airpass coupon.

A: Star Alliance Japan Airpass is sold only in conjunction with international Round Trips, Star Alliance Round the World Fare, Circle Fare or Open Jaw travel to/from/via Japan operated by any Star Alliance member carrier, originating and terminating outside Japan.Japan Airpass fares apply only to residents who do not live in Japan. Proof of residence (e.g. via passport, permanent visa or driving licence) must be presented on demand. Additionally on domestic flights your international ticket must be presented at the time of check-in. One Star Alliance Japan Airpass can be purchased per international ticket to/from/via Japan.

A: Your routing must be decided and shown in the ticket before your arrival in Japan. Reservations for the first domestic flight of the Japan Airpass must be made prior to arrival in Japan. Reservations for domestic sectors are accepted 60 days before the departure date of each domestic sector.

A: The Airfare is available in Economy Class only.

A: The total airfare is determined by the number of coupons plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges.

Example for a Japan Airpass routing:
The routing Tokyo (NRT) – Nagoya (NGO) – Hakodate (HKD) – Tokyo (HND) – Tokyo (NRT) – Sendai (SDJ) costs 44.000 JPY plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges for travel in Economy Class.

A: The Japan Airpass offers travel free of charge for infants under the age of three, who are not occupying a seat for flights within Japan. A proof of age is required.

Children and infants must be accompanied on all sectors in the same cabin by a Star Alliance Japan Airpass adult passenger paying the full Japan Airpass fare. Unaccompanied infants are not accepted.

No other discount shall apply.

A: A stopover is a stay of more than 24 hours. The Japan Airpass permits stopovers.

A: Yes, surface sectors are permitted. As they are not included in the calculated Japan Airpass, surface sectors are at the expense of the passenger. If such a break in itinerary exceeds 24 hours, it is considered as one stopover.

A: The free baggage weight allowance is 20 kg per person in connection with an international ticket issued by a Star Alliance member carrier.

A: Yes. All flights taken with this Airfare will accrue miles to your nominated Star Alliance Frequent Flyer Programme - even earning you status points.

A: You should contact one of the Star Alliance member airline reservation centres directly, your local travel agent or use the online Japan Airpass Calculator to create a valid itinerary of your desired trip. You may email it directly out of the tool to your preferred Star Alliance airline offering this service for availability check, calculation of the gross fare and reservation.
