A: The Circle Fare & Airpass Calculator offers you the possibility of planning region-specific Star Alliance Fares and Airpasses gradually in one tool. You can circle with the Star Alliance Circle Fare through Asia or the Pacific. The alternative is to choose one of the Airpasses in Africa, Asia, China, Europe, Japan, North America, South Pacific or Thailand.

A: The ticket is valid within the Mainland of China in conjunction with international travel originating and terminating outside the Mainland of China.
The Mainland of China is defined as: China excluding Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan.

A: The China Airpass includes any number between 3 and 10 flight coupons.

A: The Airfare is valid on Air China (CA) and Shanghai Airlines (FM) flights within the Mainland of China. Certain exceptions apply. Please check the Circle Fare & Airpass Calculator for valid flights, contact any Star Alliance member ticketing office or your travel agent for details.

A: Travel may last up to 3 months from commencement of travel on the first Airpass coupon to completion of travel on the last Airpass coupon.

A: The Airpass is available to residents of countries other than the Mainland of China/Hong Kong SAR/Macao SAR/Tai Wan.

Fares apply in conjunction with international Round Trips, Star Alliance Round the World or Circle Fares to/from/via the Mainland of China and those flights must be on scheduled services in First/Business or Economy class of any Star Alliance member carrier.

A: The total airfare is determined by the number of coupons plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges.

Example for a China Airpass routing:

The routing Beijing(PEK) - Xi'an (SIA) - Chongqing (CKG) - Shanghai (SHA) - Beijing(PEK) costs 510 USD plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges for travel in Economy Class.

A: Children (2-11years) are charged 75% of the adult fare plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges. They must be accompanied during the whole trip by a passenger of at least 12 years of age, paying the full adult fare. Proof of age is required.

Infants under 2 years of age, not occupying a seat, pay 10% of the applicable adult fare plus respective fees, taxes and surcharges. Proof of age is required at time of ticketing. Infants must be accompanied on all sectors in the same cabin by a Star Alliance China Airpass adult passenger paying the full China Airpass fare. If an infant turns 2 during the trip, the child discount (75% of adult fare) applies for entire journey and a separate seat will be provided.

A: The Airfare is available in Economy Class only.

A: Star Alliance China Airpass is sold only in conjunction with an international Round Trip, Star Alliance Round the World or Circle Fare to/from/via the Mainland of China, operated by any Star Alliance member carrier, originating and terminating outside the Mainland of China.

China Airpass fares apply only to residents, who do not live on the Mainland of China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR or Taiwan. Residence has to be proven at time of ticketing and check-in.

Individual sectors may only be visited once in each direction. Changing flights at a transfer, respectively connecting point requires an additional coupon.

One Star Alliance China Airpass can be purchased per international ticket to/from/via the Mainland of China.

A: Reservations for the first flight of the China Airpass must be made prior to arrival in China. The subsequent flights can be reserved up to 24 hours prior to departure of each flight. As long as the routing is not changed, reservations may even be changed up to 2 hours before departure.

A: The China Airpass permits two stopovers. A stopover is a stay of more than 24 hours.

A: You should contact one of the Star Alliance member airline reservation centres directly, your local travel agent or use the online Circle Fare & Airpass Calculator to create a valid itinerary of your desired trip. You may email it directly out of the tool to your preferred Star Alliance airline offering this service for availability check, calculation of the gross fare and reservation.

A: Yes. All flights taken with this Airfare will accrue miles to your nominated Star Alliance Frequent Flyer Programme - even earning you status points.

A: The free baggage weight allowance is 20kg per person in connection with an international ticket issued by a Star Alliance member carrier.

Exception: For passengers originating, terminating or transiting in the U.S.A. / U.S. territories, Canada, Mexico and journeys originating in Brazil and terminating in China applies the following piece concept:
- First-Class + Business-Class: 2 pieces of maximum 32kg each
- Economy-Class: 2 pieces of maximum 23kg each
