Air India to join Star Alliance
At their annual Board Meeting, the CEO's of the Star Alliance member airlines have today voted to accept the application of Air India to become a future member of the alliance.

Air China and Shanghai Airlines Join Star Alliance
Air China Limited (hereinafter “Air China”) and Shanghai Airlines, today formally joined Star Alliance at a ceremony held in the new Terminal Three at Beijing Capital International Airport. With the addition of the two Chinese airlines, Star Alliance now has 19 member carriers operating 17,000 daily flights to 897 destinations in 160 countries, offering international travellers more choice than any other airline alliance.

Star Alliance and Aéroports de Paris sign agreement on Star Alliance lounge at Paris - Charles de Gaulle airport
Star Alliance and Aéroports de Paris have signed an agreement which will see the construction of a Star Alliance Lounge in Terminal 1 at Paris' Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport. Under this accord, which is part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two parties in March 2005, Aéroports de Paris will select the space and be responsible for building the shell of the lounge, while Star Alliance will be in charge of the interior design and fitting as well as the day-to-day running of the facility.

Following the successful conclusion of membership talks with EgyptAir, the Chief Executive Board of Star Alliance has voted to accept as a future member, the national airline of Egypt, which in the last five years has undergone a significant transformation process and is now one of the foremost carriers in Africa and the Middle East.

Star Alliance Begins Move To New South Terminal At Miami Airport
Star Alliance member carrier US Airways has relocated to the new South Terminal at Miami International Airport, completing the first step in a collocation project which will in future see all five Star Alliance member carriers operating from the same terminal. Member carrier United is scheduled to move later in October 2007, with Lufthansa and SWISS moving on November 1st, 2007 and Air Canada following suit by mid-November.
