Star Alliance Japan Airpass Fare – Terms and Conditions

• The Star Alliance Japan Airpass is designed for Economy class round trips or circle trips or open jaw travel via the services of ANA (NH) within Japan in conjunction with international travel to/from/via Japan.
• The Star Alliance Japan Airpass can only be bought in conjunction with an international round trip, Open Jaw, Star Alliance Round the World or Circle Fare ticket to/from/via Japan on any Star Alliance member airline service in First, Business or Economy class. You can purchase only one Star Alliance Japan Airpass per international Round Trip, Round the World, Circle Fare of Single open Jaw ticket.
• This Airpass is only available to residents of countries outside of Japan.
• The Star Alliance Japan Airpass consists of 1 to 5 flight coupons.
• The total airfare is determined by the number of coupons plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges. (If the connection time between the international flight to Japan and the first domestic sector or between the last domestic sector and the international flight from Japan is less than 24 hours, the Japan consumption tax does not apply).
• The Japan Airpass offers travel free of charge for infants under the age of three, who are not occupying a seat for flights within Japan. A proof of age is required.
Children and infants must be accompanied on all sectors in the same cabin by a Star Alliance Japan Airpass adult passenger paying the full Japan Airpass fare. Unaccompanied infants are not accepted.
• The Star Alliance Japan Airpass can be bought in combination with international Star Alliance redemption programme tickets to and from Japan, starting outside Japan.
• All flights of the Star Alliance Japan Airpass will accrue miles to the passengers nominated Star Alliance Frequent Flyer Programme
• The Japan Airpass is not usable during certain periods of time in high season. For further information please contact your Star Alliance member airline or travel agent.

Planning the route

• There is no minimum stay required for your trip. It may last up to 60 days from the beginning of your travel on the first Airpass coupon to completion of travel on the last Airpass coupon.
• The Japan Airpass permits stopovers. A stopover is a stay of more than 24 hours. Any point may be transited additional times for the purpose of making transfer connections requiring less than 24 hours.
• Surface sectors in-between are allowed at your own expense. If such break in itinerary exceeds 24 hours it is considered as one stopover.

Advance Reservations

• Your routing must be decided and shown in the ticket before your arrival in Japan. Reservations for the first domestic flight of the Japan Airpass must be made prior to arrival in Japan. Reservations for domestic sectors are accepted 60 days before the departure date of each domestic sector.
• ANA Super Seat (First-Class) is not applicable except on a stand-by basis at the airport upon collection of the applicable super seat surcharge.

Your ticket

• Ticketing must be completed before arrival in Japan.
• You can purchase your Star Alliance Japan Airpass at your local travel agent or at any Star Alliance member airline reservation center outside of Japan. You may alternatively use the online Star Alliance Japan Airpass Calculator to plan your desired trip and to email your itinerary directly from the tool to your preferred Star Alliance airline offering this service for availability check, fare calculation and reservation.
• Japan Airpass fares apply only to residents who do not live in Japan. Proof of residence (e.g. via passport, permanent visa or driving licence) must be presented on demand. Additionally on domestic flights your international ticket must be presented at the time of check-in.
• The Star Alliance Japan Airpass has to be issued separately from your international ticket.
• The first domestic sector is valid only for the flight shown. The remaining coupons are valid for 60 days from the departure date of the first domestic sector.
• This fare may not be sold or issued in Japan.

Change of plans

• Rebooking is not permitted for the first domestic sector. However, change to an earlier flight is permitted at the airport on the day of departure on a stand-by basis.
Change for remaining sectors is permitted at any time.
• Rerouting is not permitted.

Cancellation & Refunds

• Airpass totally unused: refund less a cancellation charge of JPY 5,000.
• Airpass partially unused: The refund will be the difference between the fare paid and the applicable normal fare for the portions used. The applicable normal fare is the shoulder season fare including tax irrespective of date of boarding.
• Refund shall be done at the original ticketing office and is not permitted in Japan.
Baggage
• Baggage allowance: 20 kg per person.
• For excess baggage charges, please contact ANA (NH).

• Conditions of carriage and regulations:
The carriage of passengers, baggage and cargo is subject to the conditions of carriage of the carriers concerned, copies of which may be requested from each Star Alliance member airline.
