Asia Airpass Terms and Conditions

• The Star Alliance Asia Airpass is designed for Economy class travel holding a Star Alliance member carrier flight with international travel to/from/via Asia commencing in the USA, Canada or in countries in Central and South America, Europe, Middle East, Africa or South West Pacific. The ticket is valid for your journey within Asia on flights of the Star Alliance member carriers Air China (CA), Shanghai Airlines (FM), Lufthansa (LH), EGYPTAIR (MS), Asiana Airlines (OZ), Singapore Airlines (SQ), THAI (TG) and United (UA).
• One Star Alliance Asia Airpass can be purchased per international Return, Round the World, Circle Trip or Single Open Jaw ticket to/from/via Asia.
• The Airpass is available to residents of a country outside Asia, holding a Star Alliance member carrier flight with an international travel to/from/via Asia commencing in the USA, Canada or in countries in Central and South America, Europe, Middle East, Africa or South West Pacific.
• The Asia Airpass consists of 3 to 10 flight coupons.
• The total airfare is determined by the number of coupons flown on direct flights plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges.
• Children between the ages of 2-11 years pay 75% and infants under 2 years not occupying a seat pay 10% of the applicable adult fare. If an infant turns 2 years during the journey, the children fare will be applied for the entire journey and a separate seat will be provided. Proof of age is required at time of ticketing. Children and infants must be accompanied on all sectors in the same cabin by a Star Alliance Asia Airpass adult passenger paying the full Asia Airpass fare.
• The Star Alliance Asia Airpass can be bought in combination with international Star Alliance redemption programme tickets to and from Asia, starting outside of Asia.
• The Star Alliance Asia Airpass may only be combined with international fares (including Star Alliance Round the World, Circle Asia and Circle Pacific Fares) from USA, Canada, Central & South America, Europe, Middle East, Africa or South West Pacific to/from/via points in Asia.
• All flights of the Star Alliance Asia Airpass will accrue miles to the passengers nominated Star Alliance Frequent Flyer Programme.
• Air China (CA), Shanghai Airlines (FM), Lufthansa (LH), EGYPTAIR (MS), Asiana Airlines (OZ), Singapore Airlines (SQ), THAI (TG) and United (UA) have the right to exclude single flights from the Star Alliance Asia Airpass. Furthermore they can limit the number of passengers travelling with a Star Alliance Asia Airpass on any given flight.

 

Planning the route

• There is no minimum stay required for your trip. It may last up to 3 months from the beginning of your travel on the first Airpass coupon to completion of travel on the last Airpass coupon.
• Two stopovers are required. They are permitted at any point served by Air China (CA), Shanghai Airlines (FM), Lufthansa (LH), EGYPTAIR (MS), Asiana Airlines (OZ), Singapore Airlines (SQ), THAI (TG) and United (UA) within Asia. A stopover is a stay of more than 24 hours. A stopover is limited to one per city. Any point may be transited additional times for the purpose of making transfer connections requiring less than 24 hours.
• Changing flights at a transfer/connecting point requires an additional coupon.
• Individual sectors may not be travelled more than once in each direction.
• Surface sectors in-between are allowed at your own expense. If such break in itinerary exceeds 24 hours it is considered as one stopover

• The Asia Airpass must be confirmed on all segments before your departure

Your ticket

• The Star Alliance Asia Airpass must be issued in USA/Canada/Central&South America, Europe, Middle East, Africa or South West Pacific at the same time as the international ticket.
• You can purchase your Star Alliance Asia Airpass at your local travel agent or at any Star Alliance member airline reservation center outside of Asia. You may alternatively use the online Star Alliance Asia Airpass Calculator to plan your desired trip and to email your itinerary directly from the tool to your preferred Star Alliance airline offering this service for availability check, fare calculation and reservation.
• A separate ticket shall be issued for this fare.
• The Star Alliance Asia Airpass has to be issued separately from your international ticket.

Change of plans

• Rebooking is permitted free of charge.
• Rerouting is permitted at a charge of USD 75.

Cancellation & Refunds

• Before departure: If a ticket is totally unused, it will be refunded less a cancellation charge of USD 75 per person. This rule is applicable for adults, children and infants.
• In case of a cancellation of the totally unused international ticket, the Star Alliance Asia Airpass must be surrendered for refund.
• After departure there will be no refund.

Baggage

• Baggage allowance: 20 kg per person.
• For excess baggage charges, please contact the Star Alliance member airline concerned.

• Conditions of carriage and regulations:
The carriage of passengers, baggage and cargo is subject to the conditions of carriage of the carriers concerned, copies of which may be requested from each Star Alliance member airline.

You will then receive a non-binding offer in accordance with all terms and conditions, stating the final rate including all applicable fees, taxes and surcharges.
