A. Travellers of all countries have the possibility to travel with the Star Alliance Round the World Fare.

The Airfare is valid on the flights of all Star Alliance member carriers, such as Air Canada (AC), bmi (BD), Air China (CA), Continental Airlines (CO), Shanghai Airlines (FM), Spanair (JK), Adria Airways (JP), Blue 1 (KF), Lufthansa (LH), LOT (LO), SWISS (LX), EGYPTAIR (MS), ANA (NH), Air New Zealand (NZ), Austrian Airlines (OS), Croatia Airlines (OU), Asiana Airlines (OZ), South African Aiways (SA), Scandinavian Airlines (SK/BU), Singapore Airlines (SQ), Thai Airways (TG), Turkish Airlines (TK), United Airlines (UA) and US Airways (US).

A. The Airfare is valid for Round the World travel to/from countries in South West Pacific, Africa/Middle East, Asia, Europe, North America, South and Central America served by the participating Star Alliance member carrier.

A. The Round the World Fare provides 16 flight coupons for the entire journey including any subsequent rerouting.

A. Your travel may last at least 10 days between the first and the last international sector and up to 12 months after departure on your first flight. There is an exception for travel originating in Europe: Your travel may last at least 10 days between the first and the last intercontinental sector and up to 12 months after departure on your first flight.

For passengers originating in Australia, the minimum stay required is 7 days.

A. You can depart and terminate in countries such as South West Pacific, Africa/Middle East, Asia, Europe, North America, South and Central America, South West Pacific served by the participating Star Alliance member carriers. Furthermore your routing has to start and end in the same country.

Your itinerary may reflect travel greater than Round the World provided it is not via the point of origin and still terminates in the country of origin.

Your itinerary must include only one transatlantic and only one transpacific crossing. Such intercontinental sector may be a surface sector provided the mileage for such a land segment is included in the total mileage calculation. In the entire journey not more than one crossing is permitted between Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, Pacific.

A. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your departure for sectors up to and including the first international sector. Further segments of your journey may be booked at any time.

A. The Airfare is available in First, Business and Economy Class.

A. The total airfare of your journey is determined by the total mileage, the point of sale of your ticket and the class of service plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges. There are four possible maximum permitted mileage levels 26.000 miles (Special Economy only), 29.000 miles, 34.000 miles or 39.000 miles.

Fares apply only if the Round the World ticket is purchased before your departure. The fare must be shown on your ticket.

A. Children (2-11years) are charged 75% of the available adult fare plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges. A proof of age is required.

The first infant under 2 years of age, not occupying a seat, pays 10% of the applicable adult fare plus respective fees, taxes and surcharges. Only one infant not occupying a seat is allowed per adult passenger. Infants occupying a seat pay 75% of the adult fare plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges. Proof of age is required at time of ticketing and check-in. If an infant turns 2 during the trip, passenger may not travel as an infant and instead must occupy a seat priced at child fare for entire journey.

Children and infants must be accompanied on all sectors in the same cabin by a Star Alliance Round the World Fare adult passenger paying the full Round the World Fare.

A. A stopover is a stop of 24 hours or more. The Round the World Fare requires in general at least 3 stopovers and permits a maximum of 15 stopovers. The Round the World Special Economy Fare requires at least 3 stopovers and permits a maximum of 5 stopovers.

No more than 3 stopovers are permitted in any one country worldwide, except in the USA where 5 stopovers are allowed.

The Round the World Fare allows only one stopover per city. The maximum number of stopovers within certain regions may be limited. Further exceptions may apply.

A. A transfer is a stop of less than 24 hours. The Round the World Fare allows unlimited transfers, however not more than three transfers at any one city.

In your country of origin not more than two domestic transfers and not more than one international departure as well as not more than one international arrival are permitted. Further exceptions may apply.

A. Yes, surface sectors are permitted. As they are not included in the calculated Round the World Fare, surface sectors are at the expense of the passenger. If such a break in itinerary exceeds 24 hours, it is considered as one stopover.

The mileage for surface sectors must be included in the maximum permitted mileage calculation. The last point of arrival and the first point of departure count together as one stopover.

A. For your Round the World Fare the piece concept applies for the entire journey. Piece concept means 2 pieces per person. Most Star Alliance member carrier allow 32 kg per piece in First and Business class and 23 kg per piece in Economy Class.

A. Yes. All flights taken with this Airfare will accrue miles to your nominated Star Alliance Frequent Flyer Programme - even earning you status points.

A. A. The Airfare applies for Circle Asia journeys to/from/via areas in

• South East Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos)
• North Asia (Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, China) and
• South West Pacific (Australia and New Zealand).

Your journey must involve travel to all three areas and only one crossing is permitted between the areas South West Pacific – North Asia, South West Pacific – South East Asia as well as North Asia – South East Asia.

Additionally your travel must originate and terminate in the same country.

A. Your Circle Asia Fare permits a maximum of 16 flight coupons in the entire journey including any subsequent rerouting.

A. Your Circle Asia journey has to last at least 3 days between the first and last international departure and may last up to 6 months after departure on your first flight.

Depending on your routing and the chosen fare the maximum allowed mileage of the Circle Asia Fare is either 15,000 miles or 18,000 miles.

A. The Africa Airpass includes any number between 3 and 10 flight coupons.

A. The maximum validity of your Africa Airpass corresponds to the validity of your international ticket, but does not exceed the period of 3 months.

Star Alliance Africa Airpass is sold only in conjunction with an international Round Trip or Star Alliance Round the World Fare travel to/from/via Africa, operated by any Star Alliance member carrier, originating and terminating outside Africa.Upon request, you shall present your proof of residence. Individual sectors may not be travelled more than once in each direction. Transfers are only permitted for connecting purposes when no direct flights are offered. Changing flights at a transfer, respectively connecting point requires an additional coupon.One Star Alliance Africa Airpass can be purchased per international ticket to/from/via Africa.

The routing Cairo (CAI) - Nairobi (NBO) - Harare (HRE) - Windhoek (WDH) -Cape Town (CPT) costs 1,090 USD plus applicable fees, taxes and surcharges for travel in Economy Class.

A. The free baggage weight allowance is 20 kg per person.

Exception: For Economy class passengers originating or terminating in the U.S.A. / U.S. territories, Canada, Mexico and journeys originating in Brazil and terminating in Africa applies the piece concept.

As long as the routing is not changed, reservations may be changed up to two hours before departure. Rerouting and rebooking can only be made for flights by Air Canada (AC), Continental Airlines (CO), United (UA) or US Airways (US).
