United Airlines

United is a founding member of the Star Alliance network. The airline has a rich history in aviation, tracing its roots to 1926 when a small Swallow biplane owned by Walter T. Varney carried airmail to Nevada from Pasco, Washington – a flight that marked the true beginning of commercial air transportation and the birth of United Airlines.

Today, the airline operates the most fuel efficient fleet among U.S. network carriers with the world’s most comprehensive global route network, including world-class international gateways to Asia and Australia, Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. United, together with United Express, offers more than 5,000 flights a day to more than 370 destinations from hubs in Chicago, Denver, Guam, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo and Washington, D.C. United employs more than 84,000 people worldwide.
