Shenzhen Airlines Co., Ltd, was founded in November 1992 and started operations on September 17 of the following year. With Air China and Shenzhen International Total Logistics (Shenzhen) Co, Ltd as its major shareholders, Shenzhen Airlines focuses on passenger, cargo and mail transportation. As of January 2012, Shenzhen Airlines owns a fleet of more than 100 passenger and cargo aircraft which consists of Boeing 747s and 737s, and Airbus 320s and 319s, which are in service on over 200 domestic and international routes.

Shenzhen Airlines has been cultivating a scientific and efficient safety management culture, in accordance with the principles of "Safety First, Prevention Oriented, and Comprehensive Control". Its systematic prevention capability has been continually enhanced. Its responsibility system is strictly implemented. Shenzhen Airlines is striving to improve risk-management to ensure the overall reliability of its safety chain, so as to provide safe and trustworthy flight services to all passengers.

While safety is a cornerstone of the company's policy, Shenzhen Airlines is also building its brand by continuously improving service quality. According to Shenzhen Airlines' development blueprint, it will expand its fleet to 180 passenger aircraft by the end of 2015, with plans to introduce wide-body aircraft in due course. In August 2010, Shenzhen Airlines was selected as the exclusive global aviation partner for the 26th Universiade.Shenzhen Airlines painted four "Universiade" featured aircraft to carry out special roles such as "Torch Rally". These aircraft carry not only passengers, but also bring the Universiade spirit itself to the heart of every passenger.
