Vuyisile Kona

Mr. Vuyisile Kona* is an accomplished and passionate aviation professional. Kona is a qualified pilot who completed a Bachelor of Business Administration from St Andrews University in Michigan. In addition, Kona holds qualifications from Lausanne and Harvard University.

Kona joined SAA from Transnet where he worked within various roles in Finance. Kona traversed from Corporate Finance to Strategy and Planning and was a key member of the SAA leadership team as Executive Vice President. His areas of expertise included oversight of SAA’s subsidiaries and regional expansion strategy.

Kona is an energetic leader with entrepreneurial acumen. His goal as the Chairperson of SAA is to take the national carrier to greater heights.
