Chief Executive Officer, TAM Airlines

Líbano Miranda Barroso has served as TAM’s CEO since October 9, 2009. Previously, he was vice-president of Finance, Management and IT and Investor Relations Officer, posts that he held since May 2004, when he joined the company.

He is also the CEO of TAM Airlines (former TAM Mercosur), with headquarters in Asunción, Paraguay, and of Pantanal Linhas Aéreas, an aviation company that serves mid-density cities, acquired by TAM S.A in December 2009.Mr. Barroso is CEO of Multiplus Fidelidade, a company belonging to the TAM S.A. holding, which works with the concept of customer loyalty networks, and which joined BM&FBOVESPA’s Novo Mercado (Sao Paulo Stock Exchange) on February 5, 2010.

A professional with a solid financial background, an area where he worked for 17 years, Mr. Barroso worked for Nacional and Real banks, as well as for Safra, where he started at age 15 and reached the position of corporate manager. He developed a career working for large companies, such as Andrade Gutierrez Concessões, in the Project Finance team.

He also worked for CCR (Companhia de Concessões Rodoviárias), as CFO and Investor Relations Officer. At CCR, he participated in major financial operations, among them: the issuance of debentures – both simple and structured – and Project Finance of highway concessions Nova Dutra and AutoBAn, working jointly with BNDES and the IFC. He also participated in the project to attract a strategic international partner, Brisa – Autoestradas de Portugal, and he was responsible for the IPO of CCR, the first company to join BM&FBOVESPA’s Novo Mercado.

Mr. Barroso graduated in Economics from the School of Economic Sciences of UFMG, and holds an MBA in Finance from IBMEC and a post-graduate degree in Corporate Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).
