Blue1 is a Finnish airline and a member of the SAS Group since 1998. In only a short time, Blue1 has achieved a stable market position both in Finland and internationally, becoming the second largest airline in the country. Blue1 operates both domestic within Finland and on routes to Scandinavia and the rest of Europe.

The aim of Blue1 is to be the preferred choice, a leading regional airline for Northern European business and leisure travelers. Blue1 emphasizes the importance of a smooth network and fleet operation. Accordingly, innovative products and service are of the utmost importance in our customer-focused perspective. Extensive, flexible, and dynamic operations integrated with SAS and Star Alliance are of high importance. The number of Blue1 employees is more than 400.

Blue1 obtained IATA-membership in May 2000 and became the first ever regional member of the Star Alliance network on October 31, 2004. In 2004, Blue1 was also the first Finnish airline to be IOSA certified by IATA. In 2003 and 2006, the company was presented with the prestigious "Airline of the Year Bronze Award" by the European Airlines Association ERA. In 2009, Blue1 became one of the first network carriers in the Nordic countries to receive an ISO 14001 certificate for its environmental management system.

The Blue1 all-jet fleet consists of 7 Avro RJs and 5 MD-90 aircraft. The destinations in Finland are Helsinki, Turku, Oulu, Tampere, Vaasa, Kuopio, Rovaniemi, Kittilä, Ivalo and Kuusamo. In Scandinavia, the route network includes Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo and Copenhagen. The rest of the European destinations are Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, London, Paris, Milan, Nice, Zürich, Rome, Split, Dubrovnik and Biarritz. The main hub of Blue1 is Helsinki-Vantaa, the busiest airport in Finland.

All Blue1 flights are code-shared with SAS offering a wide selection of SAS destinations. Other code-share partners include Lufthansa, BMI, Brussels Airlines, LOT, Swiss and Thai.

In 2009 Blue1 carried 1,4 million passengers with around 80 daily flights . Blue1 offers two service travel classes, Economy Extra and Economy. Launched in 2007, Economy Extra is a premium, value-for-money Economy class product with flexible tickets, business class check-in, fast track (where applicable), free meal service and more. The loyalty program EuroBonus has some Blue1 300.000 members offering a truly global network of travel services. Welcome aboard!
