Star Alliance airport lounge in Zurich is named among the world's ten best by Forbes magazine
The new Star Alliance First and Business Class lounge at Zurich international airport is among the world’s ten best airport lounges, according to a survey published in the latest edition of the renowned business and investment magazine Forbes.
The 637-square meter Zurich facility was officially opened in August, 2001 and is the first of its kind in an exclusive Star Alliance design. Situated in the airport’s B terminal it has a seating capacity of 30 in the First Class section and 130 in the Business Class area. The lounge was designed by Toronto architects Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg – KPMB as a prototype for future Star Alliance lounges at other airport locations. The architects have made extensive use of natural stone and wood in their design, in particular walnut and birch, as well as woven metal screens to create an impression of a rural garden.
The Copenhagen lounge of Star Alliance member SAS is also included on the Forbes list of the world’s ten best airport lounges, as is Star Alliance member Singapore Airlines‘ SilverKris lounge in Singapore
