STAR ALLIANCE OUTLINES NEXT STAGE OF “MOVE UNDER ONE ROOF” AT LONDON HEATHROW AIRPORT

More Carriers to Move to Terminal 1

All Member Airlines located in the Heathrow Central Area

FRANKFURT, Germany - April 6th, 2009 - With more space now being available at Heathrow Terminal 1, Star Alliance is preparing to implement the next stage of its "Move under one Roof" (MuoR) strategy. This sees current Terminal 2 carriers - Austrian, Croatia Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS and TAP – relocating to Terminal 1 this summer.

Passengers flying on these five carriers can look forward to a substantial improvement in their travel experience from Heathrow, as compared to Terminal 2.

A new common and Star Alliance branded check-in area will welcome those travelling on Austrian, Croatia Airlines, Lufthansa, LOT Polish Airlines (already operating from Terminal 1) and TAP. After check-in passengers can pass through a separate security line located directly behind the check-in area, which will also feature Fast Track for top-tier customers.

Passengers travelling on Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, bmi, South African Airways, SWISS, United and US Airways will also benefit from the new layout of Terminal 1, with check-in and ticketing facilities for these carriers located in the redesigned main concourse.

In a further enhancement to the existing lounge facilities in Terminal 1, bmi will launch a new lounge product in June as it relocates its international lounge closer to its primary gates. With one Star Alliance First and Business Class Lounge and two bmi lounges – one for domestic passengers and one for international – Heathrow will offer eligible Star Alliance customers an unprecedented choice in lounge facilities in Terminal 1.

Once the next phase of the move is completed, the 21* Star Alliance member carriers serving Heathrow will be nearly evenly split between Terminals 1 and 3, making Star Alliance the largest alliance operating out of the core Central Area at Heathrow. The Central Area is the only area at Heathrow that has direct access to the full range of public transport: Heathrow Express and the London Connect Service, all Underground trains to Central London as well as all local and regional bus services.

Overall 21* Star Alliance member carriers currently serve Heathrow, offering 187 daily flights to 73 destinations in 23 countries.

* 19 Star Alliance member carriers and 2 regional member carriers (Blue1 and Croatia Airlines)
