Star Alliance carriers to honour Ansett tickets

Star Alliance carriers are to honour Ansett Global Rewards redemption tickets and revenue tickets issued under the following conditions:

• Star Alliance carriers will accept Ansett revenue tickets (interline and code-share) issued prior to 14 September, 2001 for the eligibility of the ticket or up to 13 September, 2002, whichever is the latest;
• Star Alliance carriers will accept Global Rewards redemption tickets on Ansett Australia paper issued prior to 14 September, 2001 for travel up to 13 September, 2002 *

*Singapore Airlines will honour tickets issued on or before 21 September, 2001 subject to the validity period shown on the ticket".

The airlines also advised that Global Rewards customers with Star Alliance Gold and Star Alliance Silver level status on their membership card will continue to receive Star Alliance benefits appropriate to their status level until the expiry date shown on their membership card but no later than December 31, 2001.

Benefits Include: priority reservation, priority waitlist, airport standby, priority boarding, priority check in; additional baggage allowance priority baggage handling and world wide airport departure lounge access.

Global Rewards customers with Star Alliance Silver level status will continue to receive Star Alliance Silver benefits, including: priority reservation waitlist and airport standby.

Customers can join other Star Alliance frequent flyer programs to ensure they continue earning points across the Star Alliance network. To join online or obtain information about a specific frequent flyer program, please visit www.staralliance.com and click on the airline of your choice.

The Global Rewards program is currently suspended and in the hands of the appointed Administrator therefore points cannot be accrued or redeemed on any Ansett Australia or Star Alliance operated flight.

Until further notice miles/points cannot be accrued or redeemed on Ansett Australia operated flights by any Star Alliance frequent flyer program customers.  For inquiries on any aspect of the Global Rewards program please refer to www.ansett.com.au or phone within Australia 13 13 00.

Star Alliance may be required to modify these existing arrangements from time to time to reflect circumstances relating to Ansett's situation.
